Hair Pin - Karauna - to crown

Dear friend, Kia Ora

This is a very elegant hair pin. I don’t think the pictures do it justice actually. I love the slender length and the tactile feel of the bone. It’s makes for a real comforting touch.

This hair pin is named Karauna meaning to crown. It is adorned with a figure of eight at its tip. This represents the eternal cycle of life and also contains other levels of meaning…

Half way along the shaft a pattern of reflecting symmetry depicts the relationship our mind has with the physical world we inhabit/create.

I sincerely hope you enjoy the carving and over time come to fully understand all the various layers of meaning imbued in this creation. I wish you and your family the deepest peace and happiness.
